Evolution explains that humor  can positively affect desirability as a relationship partner. Majority of people look for humor in a potential mate. Within our interview we have found out that 2 out of 3 people wanted to see humor in their mate.

When it comes to beauty, does personality really matter? According to Daniel, it does, it is what defines a person. Daniel states, personality and behaviour is what impacts his first judgement towards a person. To him  personality is a great factor, he uses his past experiences to explain why, "In the past, I've been with both (attractive people with a horrible personality, and unattractive people with great personality), and the unattractive people with the good personalities were always more fulfilling, even if they didn't work out". Although some of the relationships did  not work out, his best experiences included those with the best personality. He also mentioned he looks for a mate with insightful thinking and a similar humor to his.

According to "Production and appreciation of humor as sexually selected traits", humor plays a major role in selecting a mate. While research has shown both genders prefer a partner with a sense of humor, researchers never took it to the next level. In this article, it illustrates how humor serves as a way to know how well people will bond in a relationship. Data shows, people want more humor involved when it comes to long term relationships, rather than one-night stands. Humor will tell how compatible people are, it is the fastest way to predict the cohesion and marital  satisfaction between partners. It ensures the relationship will be a meaningful and long lasting one; rather than a meaningless and short one.

As another beneficial  trait, humor takes skill to make. To produce great humor, a person must be intelligent and creative. It makes sense in a Darwinian perspective to look for someone who is funny, it demonstrates they are logical thinkers and creative problem solvers. Furthermore, the research also shows, women look for men who can produce humor, while men look for women who appreciate their own humor. It can be seen humor is a sexually selected trait, as it is essential for men to be humorous in order to impress a women.

According to my friend,Gohar Saroyan who I interviewed and to many other scientific researches most of the women like men with sense of humor.I found an article which is about the influence of humor."Our results suggest that humor can positively affect desirability as a relationship partner, but this effect is most likely to occur when men use humor and are evaluated by women".These lines from my research article explain why she valued the sense of humor. Our interviews and researches have also shown that women choose personality traits over physical traits just like my friend does.Although she said personal traits are important at the end of the interview she also mentioned that her initial judgement is based on one's physical traits. After that she explained that its always better to talk with someone attractive in order to get to know his or her personality.

According to my sister Jasmin Gozalez, when looking for a mate she doesn't focus on their physical features. What she looks for in a man i if he is funny, kind, trustworthy and most of all respectful. She mainly looks for man with a great personality. She doesn't want to dated a man who is physically attrative but doesn't have a nice personality.

According to the article '' Men's facial masculinity predicts changes in their female partners'' sexual interests across the ovulatory cycle, whereas men's intelligence does not'' states that women look for a man that is intelligent and creative to have a long term relationships and for short term they base it on looks
